“The patient was alive ten minutes ago….she died between the time 911 was called and EMS arrived.”

As an emergency medical technician, I experienced this more than a few times. The patient died of an injury or illness that could have been treated by a bystander if they had the training.

The training is not hard. It does not require a person to attend a week’s long first responder course. It doesn’t require a person to have a medical background. All the training they need is just a few hours more than the limited first aid training received in conjunction with a CPR course.

But learning how to save lives requires training. Until now, that training is only available in a classroom and typically in a two-day, 16-hour Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course costing several hundred dollars. That is a big financial and time commitment. I created this training course out of my academic research and working with hundreds of Wilderness First Aid students that attended my classes. I found that many of the students attending my WFA classes are not necessarily outdoors enthusiasts but are attending because they desired to be prepared for urban emergencies and natural disasters.

This course bridges the training gap between basic first aid training included with many CPR courses and the weeks-long training found in professional first responder courses.

You will learn to identify and manage life-threatening injuries and knowledge and skills to identify and treat injuries and illnesses while you are waiting for EMS to arrive. In a disaster situation, the wait could be hours or longer.

If you desire to be ready to help and potentially save lives, this course will provide you with the training to care for the ill and injured when EMS is not minutes away.

This course consists of over forty lectures, demonstrations, videos and slides. Additional bonus content to include downloadable handouts and checklist are made available to you in this course. You will have the opportunity to test your new knowledge with graded quizzes and practice your skills in scenarios provided in this course

This course will save you time, it will save you money and since it is self-paced, it will give you the time to absorb the material – plus this course uses a method that makes learning, understanding and retaining first aid easier.

An Engaging Method to Learning First Aid.
I read and researched textbooks from the major first responder medical training schools and created medical algorithms that reduce thousands of pages of text into intuitive, easy-to-use flow diagrams that improve understanding and increases knowledge retention. Unlike textbooks that explain first aid using just words, my method graphically illustrates the entire patient treatment and care process. This new method increases understanding and knowledge retention.
