NICA Coaches – Wilderness First Aid Certification Course
Hybrid Learning – Online Lectures, One Day Skills Assessment
The School of First Aid Wilderness First Aid Certification course is designed specifically to provide NICA coaches with the skills and knowledge to care for illnesses and injuries in remote environments when EMS is not minutes away.

This course meets NICA requirements for WFA training, is approved by the Boy Scouts of America and is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) under the ACA’s standard “HW.2.2/ST.3.2 First Aid & Emergency Care Personnel.”
Course Overview
Online – Classroom lectures, demonstrations, and presentations found in a traditional, onsite, two-day, sixteen-hour Wilderness First Aid certification course. Downloadable bonus content, electronic textbook, graded quizzes and practice scenarios included.
Outdoors, High fidelity, Onsite Skills Assessment – Eight hours of hands-on skills assessment where coaches will demonstrate splinting skills, primary and secondary assessment skills and identifying and treating illnesses and injuries. Personal Protective Equipment and strict hygiene protocols surpassing local COVID-19 mandates and meeting medical protocols will be enforced.

October 24, 2020 – Columbus, Ohio 10 AM – 6 PM EST
November 7, 2020 – Dayton, Ohio 10 AM – 6 PM EST
November 14, 2020 – Hammond, Indiana 10 AM – 6 PM CST
December 5, 2020 – Louisville, KY 10 AM – 6 PM
Instructor Office Hours – Engage with the instructor and students on Zoom to answer questions and assist in learning Wilderness First Aid starting.
